Huading LW450 Soy Milk Pulp Sludge Decanter Centrifuge Low Moisture Okara Discharge 18.5kW

Okara is the single largest by-product of a soy milk line, and its moisture content decides whether the plant loses money or recovers it. Wet okara at 80 percent moisture is heavy, costly to transport and almost worthless as feed. The Huading LW450 decanter centrifuge is configured specifically for soy milk pulp sludge, with a long conical beach, a fine pitch scroll and a high torque gearbox that together push okara dryness below 65 percent while keeping protein laden liquid in the product stream.

The machine takes 6 to 12 cubic metres per hour of slurry from the grinding and cooking stage. Soy solids are compacted and conveyed out continuously, while the soy milk filtrate leaves the cylindrical end clear enough for the subsequent fine separation and sterilization steps. Because the process runs continuously rather than in batches, the plant sees a stable feed composition and a steady okara output that is easy to schedule for collection.

Key Features
  • Dry okara discharge: a long conical beach and high compression zone raise discharge pressure on the cake, bringing okara moisture below 65 percent and cutting haulage cost per tonne of soy processed.
  • Protein retained in the product stream: the separation point and pond depth are set so that liquid rich in soy protein overflows with the milk instead of being carried out with the fibre.
  • Hygienic soy grade design: smooth SS304 or SS316L surfaces, radiused corners and a fully drainable casing support fast cleaning between production runs and satisfy food safety audits.
  • Stable operation on hot slurry: the bearing block is thermally isolated and the bowl is balanced to ISO grade, so vibration stays low even when feed arrives at 80 degrees C.
  • Continuous rather than batch: steady state operation removes the peak loads, foam and manual handling that come with batch press or rotary screen okara removal.
  • Wear resistant scroll: tungsten carbide tiles on the flight edges handle the mildly abrasive fibre load and can be replaced individually without renewing the whole scroll.
  • Simple capacity scaling: the same bowl geometry is available with larger motors, allowing a plant to raise throughput with a familiar maintenance routine.

Working Principle

Soy slurry from the grinding stage is fed into the bowl through the central tube and accelerated to 3500 rpm. Centrifugal force drives the insoluble fibre outwards to form a cake on the bowl wall, while the protein rich soy milk forms an inner layer and flows over the weir. The scroll turns slightly faster than the bowl and conveys the cake along the conical beach, where the decreasing radius squeezes free liquid back into the pond before the okara is discharged. Differential speed and pond depth control the split between dryness and yield.

Applications

The LW450 is used in tofu and soy milk plants, in soy protein isolate and concentrate lines, and in plants producing soy based beverages, desserts and fermented products. It also handles similar pulp streams such as rice milk, oat slurry, peanut milk and coconut milk, making it a flexible asset in multi product dairy alternative factories.

Packaging and Quality Assurance

The decanter is packed in an export plywood case with rust preventive film, desiccant and shock absorbing mounts, with the bowl locked for transport. Supplied documents include general arrangement drawings, foundation plan, maintenance manual, spare parts list, balancing report and material certificates. Water and product run tests are performed before dispatch and a 12 month mechanical warranty applies.
