In operation, conditioned sludge is pumped into the rotating bowl where the heavy solids are pressed against the wall and conveyed to the discharge nozzles by the screw. The clarified centrate flows back to the wastewater plant, substantially lowering the solids load on the biological stage. The LW530 dewaters mixed paper mill sludge, virgin pulp sludge, recycled fiber deinking sludge and biological sludge from activated sludge plants in the paper industry.
