Pulp and paper mills generate primary sludge, biological sludge and deinking residues that are notoriously difficult to dewater because of their gelatinous fiber structure and high bound water content. In operation, conditioned sludge is pumped into the rotating bowl where the heavy solids are pressed against the wall and conveyed to the discharge nozzles by the screw. Applications

The LW530 dewaters mixed paper mill sludge, virgin pulp sludge, recycled fiber deinking sludge and biological sludge from activated sludge plants in the paper industry. It is equally effective on sludge from tissue mills, board mills and drinking water treatment plants that handle fibrous raw water residues. Dewatered cake can be incinerated with improved calorific value, composted, or landfilled at significantly reduced volume and cost.
