Cassava Starch Fruit Water Separation Decanter Centrifuge LW500 Automatic Starch Milk Solids Recovery

Cassava starch mills extract starch from fresh roots or dried chips, and the fruit water that remains after extraction is rich in fine starch, fiber and protein that traditional settling channels fail to recover. HUADING LW500 cassava starch fruit water separation decanter centrifuge separator recovers these suspended solids continuously, lifting starch yield by several percentage points and converting an effluent problem into a saleable by product stream. The machine is built to the hygiene standard demanded by the food starch industry, with stainless steel contact parts, rapid disassembly features and a design that shrugs off the abrasive silica that is always present when roots are washed and rasped.

Fruit water is fed into the horizontal bowl where 3250 g of centrifugal force throws fine starch granules onto the bowl wall. The screw conveyor, running at a differential speed set by the PLC, carries the solids through the drying zone and out of the machine while the clarified fruit water overflows continuously. Because the separation is fully mechanical, the LW500 operates without filter cloths and without the large floor area needed for settling basins, which makes it an ideal upgrade for mills that want to modernize their starch recovery line without extending the plant footprint.

Key Features
  • Higher starch yield: Capturing fine starch from fruit water increases overall mill recovery and directly improves the economics of every ton of roots processed.
  • Food industry construction: Contact surfaces in SS304 with optional SS316L, smooth surface finish and hygienic design allow thorough cleaning between production runs.
  • Abrasion resistant internals: Tungsten carbide tiles on the conveyor and feed accelerator withstand the sand and silica entering with washed cassava roots.
  • Continuous high capacity: The LW500 treats 12 to 25 cubic meters of fruit water per hour, matching the output of medium sized starch extraction lines.
  • Reduced water consumption: Recovered water is recycled to the washing and rasping stages, cutting fresh water intake and effluent volume simultaneously.
  • Low flocculant demand: Mechanical separation achieves high capture without heavy polymer dosing, saving reagent cost and keeping starch quality clean.
  • Stable automatic control: Torque controlled back drive holds cake dryness constant even when root quality and feed consistency vary during the season.

Applications

The LW500 is applied in cassava starch plants for fruit water treatment, starch milk concentration, fine fiber dewatering and wastewater solids recovery. The same machine dewaters potato, sweet potato and wheat starch process streams, and separates solids from grain stillage in ethanol plants. Starch mills that install the decanter close the loop between extraction and drying: recovered starch slurry returns to the refining line, fiber cake goes to animal feed or biogas, and the clarified water is reused, reducing BOD load on the effluent plant by more than half. In new greenfield projects the decanter often replaces entire settling pond systems, recovering valuable land for production.

Packaging and Quality Assurance

HUADING supplies the LW500 with a factory test certificate covering dynamic balancing, noise and vibration levels and a full water load trial. For food applications the machine includes material certificates for stainless steel parts and food grade seals. Export packaging uses a strong plywood case with internal steel bracing, and all open flanges are blanked to keep the interior clean during shipment. The delivery package contains the general arrangement drawing, foundation details, electrical diagrams, operation and maintenance manual and a recommended spare parts list. HUADING engineers support installation and commissioning on site or by video link, and the machine carries a twelve month warranty with fast spare parts dispatch worldwide.
