Low Fat And Defatted Soy Milk Clarification |
When soy milk is produced from partially defatted soy flour or from low fat beans, the fine solids behave differently. There is less fat to carry particles, so the suspended fines settle slowly and pass through ordinary filters, leaving a chalky sediment that shows up after sterilization. A disc stack separator, with its short settling distance and very high centrifugal field, removes those fines efficiently at full production flow.
The DHC-500 is a self cleaning disc stack centrifuge rated at 10000 litres per hour with 7000 G in the bowl. Soy milk enters, passes up through the disc stack where fine particles are thrown outwards onto the discs, and leaves clarified through the centripetal pump. Accumulated solids are ejected automatically on a programmable cycle, which means the machine can run through an entire production shift without manual intervention.

Soy milk is fed under pressure into the bowl and accelerated to 6600 rpm. It rises through a stack of conical discs separated by narrow channels; centrifugal force throws denser fines against the underside of each disc, where they slide outwards to the bowl wall, while the clarified liquid travels inwards and up to the centripetal pump. Solids collect in the sludge space and are ejected through peripheral ports on a timed or turbidity triggered cycle, so separation efficiency stays constant throughout the shift.
ApplicationsThe DHC-500 clarifies low fat, defatted and standard soy milk, soy protein solutions, rice and oat milk, coconut milk and other plant based beverage bases. It is also used ahead of membrane filtration, before UHT sterilization and in the production of soy based desserts and fermented drinks where sediment is unacceptable.
Packaging and Quality AssuranceThe separator ships in a plywood case with the bowl locked, the vibration damper secured and the control cabinet packed separately. Delivered documents include general arrangement drawings, foundation plan, operation and maintenance manuals, bowl balancing certificate, material certificates and the PLC program backup. Installation supervision, commissioning and operator training can be provided on site.
